Research and Development

Research and Development (R&D) is the innovation engine of Goodwill® and is crucial for driving growth. We want to maintain a high rate of new product delivery to the end of the decade while investing in targeted early research that will deliver breakthrough innovation post-2020. We are backed by agronomic experts and deep understanding of crop productivity where we continue to search for new and improved ways of raising the quality and yield of crops worldwide.

A farmer-oriented seed production and supply venture that began in 1995 was rapidly transformed to a creditable leader in agricultural R&D (Research & Development) as Goodwill® Hybrid Seeds (India) Pvt. Ltd.

About R&D with Innovation

We use the science of the lab and the land to maximize the productivity and sustainability of the earth’s farmland to enhance food security.

We know, the biggest portion of the increase in agriculture production is caused by technological innovation. As a part of our sustainable growth strategy, we consistently have invested in Research & Development (R&D) and since 2019 our R&D base is recognized by the Government of India and Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR).

Seed Testing & Evolution

Since India is a diversified agro-climatic country, the adaptability of crops to various zones, pests & diseases differ and also the choice of farmers and consumers vary. To design a plant type according to the situation, a robust method of evaluation is of utmost importance. We are equipped with a state-of-the-art seed testing laboratory at Uklana (Hisar). Seeds are checked for genetic and physical purity as well as germination, following the Indian Minimum Seed Certification Standards (IMSCS).

As a process, we conduct evaluation trials for each season against the best commercial products available as checks. The USP’s of each product along with their tolerance level towards both biotic & abiotic stress is recorded.
